A few weeks ago we were looking for a billy goat on craigslist. We wanted one so that next year we could hopefully be milking our goats and have more baby goats. We found one and my dad immediately called the guy who was selling it, even though he was at work. The guy said that we would be able to pick him up in about two weeks. Two weeks later we were going to pick up our new goat. My mom, McKinley, and I all went because my dad had work and Kennedy had gymnastics. When we got there the guy we bought them from came out of this shed with the goat in his arms. We took him home in a large dog kennel in the back of my mom’s car. We were still trying to pick out a name but at this point it was between Peaches and Snickers. When we got home we put our dog, Zoey’s collar on him and walked him around the driveway. He didn’t really like the collar at first but has gotten used to it now. We put him in the pen we set up next to the other goat pen. The new goat can see the other goats but they aren’t in the same pen so they don’t hurt him. We did decide on the name Snickers while eating supper that night. The first night we got him he escaped four times once into the other goat pen and three times into the backyard. We ended up zip tying chicken wire around the fence so he couldn’t sneak through the holes. He hasn’t gotten out since then thankfully and we’re excited to welcome Snickers to our farm.
